Nishita

My name is Nishita Matangi and my mission is to empower individuals and communities by creating platforms and spaces to share their stories. To be empowered, an individual must first be informed. We live in the age of information, to the point that it can be overwhelming. Marginalized communities don't always have information that is culturally competent and understandable, whether that be in respect to language or vernacular. If community specific information is available it is not always accessible. People have the right to access information that has an impact on their overall health and well being.

Universal Declaration of Human Rights

njmatangi 6 years ago

In 2018, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights turns 70. The UDHR holds the Guinness World Record for the most translated document. On the 70th anniversary of the document, we created a video of students, faculty and staff of the Loma Linda University School of Public Health reading all 30 articles of the declaration in different languages, dialects and accents.
